The Temple of Leah was in fact constructed in 2012 AD by Teodorico Soriano Adarna—owner of the Queensland motel chain—for his wife of 53 years, Leah Villa Albino-Adarna (who sadly passed away that same year). He took inspiration from Greek and Roman architecture, added some huge lions, brass angels, and a grand staircase, and opened it up to the public. In the words of the brass plaque next to the statue of Leah:

“I constructed this temple in the year 2012 A.D. as a symbol of my undying love for and ceaseless devotion to Leah Villa Albino-Adarna, my wife of 53 years. I adopted an architectural design that can withstand time and still be appreciated for a millennium so this temple will become a landmark of Cebu, where future generations of the Adarna clan can come and trace their roots and heritage.”
